How PayRange Modernized Masonic Street Laundry
Reflecting back on the decision to use PayRange in his laundromat, Jason says “For me it was just a no brainer and the solution was perfect.”

About Masonic Street Laundry
Jason Foster owns and operates Masonic Street Laundry in Northhampton, Massachusetts. “My goal is to not have employees … my interest is to keep it running itself as passive income.” Said Jason when describing his laundromat. For the first three years of Jason’s ownership, Masonic Street Laundry was exclusively cash and coin. He was interested in adding credit card capabilities to his machines, but only discovered PayRange after having a new large capacity washer delivered. “I was shocked and horrified, in fact flabbergasted, that it did not include credit card capabilities, which I thought it did. Within a week I’d discovered PayRange was the perfect solution for what I was looking for.”
“PayRange has increased my revenue between 15% – 20%”
Low up front cost, an app-based system, reliability, and ease of installation appealed to Jason. Customer acceptance of PayRange was validated with reduced financial and operational risk when compared to traditional card readers. “My customers love it. They tell me ‘I’m here because you accept credit cards.’” After using PayRange for a couple of years, Jason remains pleased with its payment capabilities — the main reason he installed it. Now, he also relies on its financial reporting and operational insights PayRange provides to manage his unattended laundromat remotely. “PayRange has helped me operationally in ways I didn’t even envisions when I first signed up.” Stated Jason.
Why Masonic Street Laundry Loves PayRange
Jason installed the PayRange hardware himself, describing it as “not rocket science”. An advantage of the PayRange BluKey device installing inside the machine is there are no contact points to wear out or keep free of lint. Jason also found that the Bluetooth connection between the machine and the consumer’s phone was more reliable than Wi-Fi most card readers employ — an advantage for both Jason and his customers.
When describing how PayRange has impacted his business, Jason points to three things: credit card acceptance capabilities, financial reporting, and machine utilization insights. Reports give Jason the ability to see what’s happening at a moment’s notice. If machine usage patterns change, he can be alerted to potential problems to quickly address. “I have peace of mind when I’m not in my unattended laundromat. It doesn’t matter if I’m 3,000 miles away or sitting 10 minutes away in my house, I always want to know what’s happening in my laundromat.” stated Jason.
